| A UK based survey of construction professionals, conducted by ‘Building’ magazine, claims that salary is the most important incentive for 40 per cent of those surveyed. “Of the professions, main contractors appeared to be the most mercenary, valuing salary far above other aspects of their jobs, and architects the least, valuing work/life balance and promotion almost as much as money.”
The three most important items in a new salary package aside from salary were
Civil engineers and building surveyors were less concerned about bonuses; project managers prized pensions while Quantity Surveyors didn't. |
