Arab Gulf property sector prospects positive
Published 07 Mar 2008

It would appear that the Arab Gulf region is not suffering the problems that other regions of the world are as a result of rising interest rates.

According to a new report from investment specialist, Moody's Investors Service, prospects for the Arabian Gulf property market are said to be "broadly positive".

The ratings agency expects sustained real estate market growth in the region as demand for new housing, office and retail space continues to outpace supply and this scenario is expected continue in to the medium term. This also means that the prospects for future Middle East construction jobs development are also very positive.

However it also says that many property companies over exposed to particular countries or even cities, and to a small number of large projects. This over exposure acts as the main limitation on a company's creditworthiness.
