150 Irish construction jobs created by new retrofit firm

One sector in the Irish construction market that will experience job growth in the coming months is domestic retrofitting. And one of the first companies out of the blocks is Durkan EcoFix, which has just announced the creation of 150 Irish construction jobs.

New company Durkan EcoFix will create 150 construction jobs to serve the home insulation market which it says is estimated to be worth €9 billion.

The Irish Government’s new €50 million Home Energy Savings (HES) scheme entitles homeowners who invest in insulating their homes to a grant worth between €500 and €5,150. The HES grant is administered by Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI) and is open to all homes built before 2006.

The 150 jobs at Durkan Ecofix will be made up of service teams comprising specialist insulation installers, plumbers, electricians, plasterers, carpenters and BER assessors. The service teams will be supported by office personnel in administration, finance, sales and marketing roles.
