Infrastructure Engineering Specialist (Railways-Permanent Ways) Job Description
An Infrastructure Engineering Specialist is required to work for a global leading construction company performing a Project Management Services role on behalf of the client on one of the largest civils projects in the world at present.
The project is to expand the industrial city of Jubail in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. This will include the expansion of King Fahd Industrial Port, pipeline refurbishment, increasing capacity of the cooling system, and new desalination plants as well as a newly built industrial rail network.
Infrastructure Engineering Specialist Duties
As the Infrastructure Engineering Specialist you will be expected to explore the subject area, define the scope and develop novel concepts, approaches and solutions. Some of your responsibilities will be:
- Review rail studies and reports from the client and elsewhere
- Assist with the development of Right of Way (ROW) corridors with respect to interferences with existing utilities and accesses to existing and proposed industries
- Review and develop FEED rail proposals for at-grade crossings with respect to road traffic issues & safety, as well as proposal reviews for structures, including existing tunnel & piers for elevated crossing of cooling water channels and canals
- Review topographical survey data for completeness & initiate furthers surveys as route alignment is finalised.
- Develop interfaces with North-South (SAR) and Landbridge (SRO) traffic confirming flyovers & turnout configuration
- Assist APE with support to construction of railway engineering issues and ensures timely resolution to avoid impact on construction.
Infrastructure Engineering Specialist Experience Required
Degree in Civil / Structural engineering or similar equivalent is essential
Extensive experience in railway infrastructure design and construction
Sufficient knowledge of computers and software to develop traffic simulation models
Experience in site infrastructure (Earthworks, Land developments, Roads, Drainage, potable / irrigation / waste water networks / systems
