This company operate both as a main contractor and a developer. As Purchasing Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the sourcing/procurement of all building materials, plant and equipment. You will report directly into a Director and be the main representative of the company in all dealings with suppliers.
What you will be doing:
- Manage the company's Sage software system
- Process material requisitions from all sites ensuring the correct quantities are ordered and in keeping with specification
- Be mindful of lead times and ensure materials are ordered on time for building
- Set out clear procedures for the requisitioning of materials
- Ensure minimal waste of materials on site
- Set out procedures for the hiring of equipment
- Process all invoices and ensure details and payment is correct
- Manage servicing schedules of plant equipment
What you will need:
- A Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Construction related degree
- Previous experience working in Procurement/Buying in the construction industry
- Analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Strong project management and negotiation skills
