Our Client, the world’s leading Contractor company, requires a Construction Manager for a major project in PNG. The purpose of the project is to construct two LNG trains with a capacity of 3.1 MTA each with all its associated utilities and offsites facilities. The onshore portion of the PNG LNG Project will be constructed on a green-field site located within 28 km from Port Moresby.
Minimum Academic Qualifications:
An Academic degree in Mechanical Engineering and or a recognized professional qualification.
Minimum Experience Required:
Over 10-years, documented experience in a varietyof major international Petrochemical projectsinvolving in-depth knowledge of a multi – discipline environment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Plans and supervises the major functions of the construction which include the responsibility for the planning and co-ordination of all manpower and equipment, materials supplies, and sub-contracted services, towards the proper completion of the work on schedule with approved drawings, specifications, cost and quality limitations.
Monitors Sub-contractors at each stage of the work to ensure proper compliance with all technical aspects of the contract.
Checks and authorizes all claims for payment from all Sub-contractors involved in his section of the project to assure accuracy and that proper contractual obligations are met.
Directs and supervises his project engineers in the performance of all aspects of their work.
Exercises strict control over costs of construction particularly the use of labor, materials and equipment.
Monitors construction progress on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and provides input to the regular reports of the Project Manager.
Makes forward plans in his section of the project for the release of equipment and personnel employed.
