Job Description: Responsibilities: The Estimating Manager will be responsible for providing estimating guidance to and ensure proper procedures are followed on the civils component of an AUD$ 20b LNG project in Australia. This position will provide technical direction, oversight, and leadership to the Estimating team. Supervise the daily activities and assign and prioritize the work assignments of the team. Prepare conceptual estimate for budgetary purpose. Reviews and evaluate estimate submitted by Design consultants. Reviews and approves payment certificates and submits to Program Controls Director for approval. Reviews and approves consultant recommendations of contractor payment applications to include verification of supporting documentation and submits to Program Controls Director for approval. Reviews and approves entitlement and estimated order of magnitude to include substantiation of variation notifications and submits to Program Controls Director for approval. Reviews and approves variation orders for approval of the Program Controls Director. Upon client approval, advises consultant to negotiate with contractor and recommend final proposed value of variation. Profile Highly experienced Senior Estimator / Manager with a strong civils background, who understands the civil component of a large scale construction project. Prior experience in pricing large scale projects in excess of AUD$1Billion Prior experience in oil + gas projects preferred (but not required)
Requirements: Degree or diploma in quantity surveying or engineering is a minimum requirement. A minimum of 10 years experience is required. Strong conceptual estimating experience required. Experience working on the civils component of a large scale industrial project or LNG project Effective oral and written communication skills are required. Membership in professional quantity surveying society such as the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors is preferable, but is not mandatory.
