Job Description: Primary role * The Environment Officer assists the Project Environment Manager to ensure compliance with contractual environmental specifications, environmental legislation and other relevant stakeholder requirements of the project. * The Environment Officer assists with the development of programs, projects and practices that ensures the companies interests and responsibilities relating to the environment are protected and improved. Reports to Project Environmental Manager * Prepares reports and assists the Environmental Manager in the preparation and reconciliation of budgets including purchase orders and invoicing. * Understand that the key financial objective is to make money by working economically and minimising risk. Contractual * Provides specialist environment support to assist the Project Environmental Manager with preparation of documentation, licences, approval applications, reporting, environmental monitoring and environment issue management to achieve the project objectives. Personnel * Creates a harmonious working atmosphere, presenting a positive, solid outlook and a sense of urgency when required. * Participates in team / toolbox meetings and participates as an active member of the Project team. * Prepares information for the induction process of personnel, subcontractors and suppliers and ensures it includes appropriate knowledge with regards to environment issues. * Under no circumstances provide false or misleading information to company's Senior Management and regulatory authorities. Procedural / operational * Liaises with the Project Environment Manager to achieve best possible environmental outcomes. * Prepares reports and documentation and communicates relevant issues to other technical staff, managers, regulatory authorities, relevant stakeholders and the community. * Provides resources and actions items requested by the authorities in seeking approvals under the direction of the Project Environment Manager. Time / planning * Demonstrates an awareness and understanding of the fundamentals of planning and programming and prioritises and organises tasks to achieve Project objectives. * Report to the Project Environmental Manager if assistance is required and/or sufficient resources are not available to achieve Project objectives. Quality * Monitors and manages key business performance indicators and implements and measures improvements without compromising quality. * Monitors input and output into supplier and subcontractor performance and product.
Requirements: Tertiary Qualification 7 + years experience
